Victoria University (VU) is one victory away from securing a coveted spot in the National Basketball League (NBL) after a resounding 77-52 triumph over UMU Flames in the second leg of their promotion playoff semi-final on Sunday.

This decisive win follows their narrow 56-51 victory in the first game, putting VU firmly in the driver’s seat.

Cedric Alema emerged as the star of the show, delivering a game-high 27 points, while Joseph Kumba provided crucial support with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

This dominant performance leaves VU needing only one more victory in their remaining playoff matches to confirm their promotion to the top tier of Ugandan basketball.

In the other semi-final clash, Rezlife Saints secured their place in the promotion race with a convincing 71-49 victory over UPDF Tomahawks.

This win sets the stage for an exciting climax to the promotion playoffs, with both VU and Rezlife Saints needing just one more win to achieve their NBL aspirations.

Sunday’s Results:

Women: Amazon Rhino 66-65 Nkumba Lady Marines, Angels 54-51 Our Saviour

Men: UMU Flames 52-77 Victoria University, UPDF Tomahawks 49-71 Rezlife Saints
