In an action packed encounter broadcast live on NBS Sport, Kireka Pool Club and E-Play Billiards fought to a pulsating 10-10 draw in the Nile Special National Pool League.
The match, a crucial clash for both sides battling in the lower half of the league table, showcased a captivating display of skill, resilience, and nail-biting tension.
E-Play Billiards, spurred on by the impressive performance of their 13-year-old national junior champion, Herbert Mukisa, initially seized control of the match.
Despite starting two frames down, Mukisa’s influence ignited a remarkable comeback, propelling E-Play to a 5-2 lead. It seemed Kireka were facing an uphill battle.
However, the home side refused to be deterred. Kireka’s Willy Yiga, Nicolas Buma, and Sowedi Mugerwa demonstrated their mettle, stringing together three consecutive frame wins to level the scores at 5-5 going into halftime.
The momentum had shifted, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.
The second half proved to be a closely contested affair, with both teams trading blows and sharing frames evenly.
Kireka managed to gain a crucial advantage, winning two frames in a row to establish a 10-8 lead. Victory seemed within their grasp, needing only to secure the final three frames for a decisive win.
But E-Play had other ideas. Facing the pressure of a potential defeat, Ivan Sennyonjo and Geoffrey Lutaaya stepped up for E-Play.
Displaying remarkable composure and focus, they calmly won the final two frames on separate tables, securing a hard-fought draw for their team.
