The 2025 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series officially kicks off tomorrow, March 15, at the Entebbe Club’s par-71 golf course, promising a thrilling start to the new season.

After a three-month break, golfers will return to the fairways with an exciting lineup of changes, including fresh formats of play and enhanced experiences both on and off the course.

With registrations already at capacity, Katogo Captain Elly Kibuka Mukasa assured players of a memorable event.

“We expect nothing short of a full course, and we promise an unforgettable experience for everyone,” Mukasa said. “The 19th hole experience will be exceptional, thanks to our partners who have pulled out all the stops.”

The opening round will feature the ‘Rejected’ format, a unique challenge where golfers play in same-sex pairs. After teeing off, their opponents will decide where they must take their second shots from—except on six select holes, where teams can reject the chosen position.

The top five male pairs and top three female pairs will be rewarded, along with winners of various side bets.

One of the biggest attractions of the season opener is the hole-in-one prize: a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (X-Force), sponsored by Victoria Motors and insured by GA Insurance.

Annette Nakiyaga, I&M Bank’s Marketing and Corporate Communication Head, emphasized the tournament’s growing impact.

“The Katogo Golf Series continues to evolve, providing golfers with a fresh take on the game. This year, we’re introducing exciting new formats and an even better 19th hole experience,” she said.

The post-tournament celebrations will feature comedian Patrick ‘Salvado’ Idringi as host and a performance by songstress Naava Grey. Johnnie Walker will also add to the festivities with cocktails and bottle offers.

The tournament is supported by key partners, including RwandAir, NBS Sport, Fenon Events, Serena Hotel, Lake Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, Time Cop Security, and Goldman’s Luxury.

With a full course, exciting prizes, and a unique format, the 2025 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series opener is set to deliver a spectacular start to the season.
