Uganda’s U19 cricket team, the Baby Cricket Cranes, alongside Team Tanzania, participated in an Anti-Corruption session ahead of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifier in Nigeria.
The session, conducted by ICC Events Manager for Africa, Martin Ondeko, aimed to educate players and officials on maintaining the integrity of the game.
With the tournament set to begin on March 28, the session served as a critical reminder of cricket’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
Players were taken through key topics, including match-fixing awareness, reporting suspicious approaches, and upholding the spirit of the game.
Uganda’s young cricketers, who are preparing for their opening match against Tanzania on March 29, welcomed the session as an important part of their development.
The ICC enforces strict anti-corruption measures across all its tournaments, ensuring fair play and safeguarding the sport’s credibility.
As the Baby Cricket Cranes chase a spot in the 2026 U19 Cricket World Cup, the session reinforced their responsibility both on and off the field.
