In a closely contested game, the Miracle Ravens edged out the KCCA Leopards Basketball Club 80-75 in the National Basketball League Women 2025 competition.
The match, held at MTN Arena on Wednesday March 26th, saw the Miracle Ravens establish their dominance early with a strong 25-11 lead in the first quarter.
Mariam Namukwaya, the star of the evening, delivered an exceptional performance, amassing 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Though trailing at halftime with 31-45, the KCCA Leopards fought back valiantly.
Tracy Namugosa led their efforts with an impressive 23 points and 7 assists. Asinah Kabendela added a strong double-double, contributing 10 points and 11 rebounds.
In the final moments of the game, KCCA surged but fell just short. Akello Winnifred iced the game for the Miracle Ravens, sinking two clutch free throws in the final seconds to ensure the five-point victory.
The Ravens’ precision, shooting 39% from the field and hitting 8 three-pointers, compared to KCCA’s 32% and 4 three-pointers, proved decisive.
Despite KCCA’s advantage in steals and fast-break points, the Ravens’ composure under pressure and use of second-chance opportunities sealed their win.
With this victory, the Miracle Ravens leapfrog the KCCA Leopards into 3rd position on the league table with 3 points, while the Leopards remain on 2 points from one win in their opening two games.
