Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder is gearing up for his comeback fight against Tyrrell Herndon on June 27 in Wichita, Kansas.
The bout, promoted by Global Combat Collective, will be contested over 10 rounds and marks Wilder’s attempt to reignite his career after a series of setbacks.
Once regarded as the most feared puncher in boxing, Wilder held the WBC title from 2015 to 2020 and boasts an impressive record of 43 wins, 42 by knockout, alongside four losses and one draw.
However, recent defeats to Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker have derailed his ambitions of reclaiming a world title and postponed a highly anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua.
Herndon, a 37-year-old American with a record of 24 wins and five losses, steps into the ring as Wilder’s opponent.
While relatively unknown, Herndon presents an opportunity for Wilder to rebuild momentum and showcase his renowned knockout power.
The fight will take place at the Charles Koch Arena, with Wilder aiming to prove he remains a formidable force in the heavyweight division.
