Nanyonjo to Lead Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes at Africa Women’s Cup Qualifier

Angella Nanyonjo is the new captain of the Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes.

Nanyonjo, with seven international test caps, will lead Uganda at the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup – Division One tournament in San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire from April 9-20, 2025.

They will depart for Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday morning.

Uganda will compete against Tunisia, Zimbabwe and hosts Côte d’Ivoire for top spot in the tournament.

Uganda’s fixtures (East African time):

• April 11 – 5 p.m.: Uganda v Tunisia
• April 15 – 7 p.m.: Côte d’Ivoire
• April 19 – 3 p.m.: Zimbabwe v Uganda

The winner of this tournament will qualify for the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup in May.
