The fiery rivalry between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano intensified during a heated exchange over their second fight and the implementation of three-minute rounds in women’s boxing.
Taylor, a two-weight undisputed champion, criticized Serrano’s recent points victory against Ramos, calling it “boring” and “not a good advertisement” for the three-minute round rule.
Taylor argued that the rule change aimed to increase knockouts, stating, “How many knockouts did you get in your 12 three-minute rounds? Zero.”
Her remarks came as Serrano reiterated her belief that she should have been awarded the decision in their second encounter.
“If you look at those fights, you can clearly see that I won those two fights,” Serrano insisted. Taylor firmly dismissed the claim, saying, “It’s insane. It’s ridiculous, really. It’s really, really insane that she thinks she won those fights.”
