Uganda’s national women’s rugby team, the Lady Cranes, arrived safely in Kampala on Monday morning following their successful campaign at the Rugby Africa Women’s Division One tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.
The team landed at Entebbe International Airport after securing qualification for the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup with an unbeaten run.
Their emphatic 63-7 victory over Zimbabwe in their final match last week capped a dominant showing, which also saw them defeat Tunisia and the host nation.
The Lady Cranes’ return marks the end of a landmark outing in which they showcased superior tactical execution and athleticism.
The victory secured Uganda’s return to the continent’s top tier, joining South Africa, Kenya, and Madagascar in the 2025 premier division.
