In the boys’ category, Uganda achieved a total team score of 716 across three rounds.

After opening with a combined 253 in the first round, the team improved steadily, carding 234 in the second round and 229 in the final round—their best showing of the tournament.

The boys’ team ranked fifth overall among 12 participating nations.

Peter Mayende led Uganda’s individual performances, finishing with a total of 241 (+25) after rounds of 89, 77, and 75.

John Paul Rugumambaju and Anthony Otukei both finished with totals of 243 (+27), while Shaka Ndyabahika Kariisa recorded 251 (+35). Justin Ngeera completed his rounds with a total of 261 (+45).

South Africa claimed the boys’ team title with a total score of 657, ahead of Morocco (662) and Zimbabwe (694), while Mauritius finished fourth.

In the girls’ competition, Uganda finished eighth overall with a team total of 518.

The girls steadily improved across the three rounds, scoring 176 in Round 1, 173 in Round 2, and 168 in Round 3. Morocco dominated the girls’ section with a winning score of 452, followed by South Africa (460) and Tunisia (474).

Uganda’s participation marked the team’s third appearance at the continental championship.

Speaking before the tournament, Uganda Golf Union president Dr. Jackson Were emphasized the importance of international exposure for young players, while head coach Flavia Namakula credited recent high-performance training in Lugazi for preparing the players.

The 2025 edition of the All-Africa Junior Team Championship featured 12 countries in the boys’ event and 9 in the girls’ field, with Morocco and South Africa emerging as the standout teams.
