Naomi Osaka secured her first WTA title since the 2021 Australian Open, defeating Kaja Juvan 6-1, 7-5 in the final of the L’Open 35 de Saint-Malo, a WTA 125 event.
This victory is the 27-year-old’s first since becoming a mother in July 2023.
After struggling with form last year, failing to progress beyond the second round of any Grand Slam, the former world No. 1 showed a return to her winning ways.
Having reached the Australian Open third round in January, Osaka’s Saint-Malo triumph provides a significant confidence boost ahead of the French Open later this month.
