The Denver Nuggets, powered by Nikola Jokic’s 42 points and a last-second three-pointer from Aaron Gordon, shocked the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder 121-119 in their Western Conference semifinal opener Monday.
Despite leading by 14, the Thunder couldn’t hold off Denver’s late surge.
In the East, the New York Knicks rallied from a 20-point deficit to edge the reigning champion Boston Celtics 108-105.
Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby each scored 29 for the Knicks, while the Celtics struggled with a record-breaking 45 missed three-pointers.
Game 2 for both series is on Wednesday.
