Absa Bank Uganda Commits Shs 179 Million to 2025 Captain’s Bell Golf Tournament

The 2025 Captain’s Bell Golf Tournament has received a significant boost with a Shs 179 million sponsorship from Absa Bank Uganda ahead of tee-off next week.

Scheduled for 15–17 May, the event will take place at the Uganda Golf Club in Kitante and will feature juniors, amateurs, gross, and professional golfers competing for a range of prizes.

This year marks the seventh consecutive year of Absa Bank’s support for the tournament. Michael Segwaya, the bank’s Chief Finance Officer, reaffirmed their continued commitment.

“This goes beyond sponsorship as we celebrate discipline, integrity, resilience, and strategic thinking. We look forward to driving value both on and off the course, with a strong focus on nurturing talent,” Segwaya said.

Uganda Golf Club captain Paul Rukundo emphasized the tournament’s importance to the club.

“The Absa team has consistently supported the tournament, and we’re expecting fantastic numbers this year. We hope to break participation records,” Rukundo said, adding, “We hope this partnership grows even stronger. It’s the biggest and most prestigious tournament we host.”

The Captain’s Bell tournament aims to strengthen community spirit, identify talent, and celebrate the passion for golf in Uganda.
