Carlos Alcaraz made a successful injury comeback at the Italian Open, defeating Dusan Lajovic 6-3, 6-3 in his opening match.
The Spaniard, who was sidelined with hamstring and groin issues, said his body felt “great” and that he “passed the test.”
The reigning Wimbledon and US Open champion’s performance eases concerns ahead of his French Open title defense.
Alcaraz will next face either Alex Michelsen or Laslo Djere.
