Mirra Andreeva, 19, claimed her first Grand Slam with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska at Roland Garros.
The Russian eighth seed is the youngest women’s singles winner in Paris since Monica Seles in 1992. After a nervy start, she strung together nine straight games to take control, sealing victory with a backhand winner before embracing coach Conchita Martinez.

Chwalinska, ranked 114, was denied a fairytale ending but made history as only the second qualifier to reach a Grand Slam final in the Open era, following Emma Raducanu in 2021.
