Kitara FC continued their quest to return to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a convincing 3-0 win over Calvary FC in the FUFA Big League on Thursday.
The Masindi based side were rampant throughout the game, over powering a Calvary side that has struggled early in the season.
Former KCCA FC striker Patrick Kaddu netted a brace on the day with Charles Kyomuhendo scoring the other goal.
It took the hosts just nine minutes to find a break through as John Wesley Kisakye fed Kaddu to slot home from close range.
Kyomuhendo doubled Kitara’s lead a minute after the half-hour mark, heading in a Moses Sseruyidde cross at the far post.
Just like for the opening goal, Kisakye once again teed up Kaddu to complete his brace, five minutes after the break to all but put the contest beyond Calvary.
The win means Kitara climbs to 16 points, three points ahead of second-placed Mbarara City who drew 1-1 at home to Police on the same day.
For Calvary, they drop to 15th in the standings with just six points gathered from seven games.
In the other games played on Thursday, Booma FC were 2-1 winners away to Northern Gateway, Luwero United and Kataka played out a goalless draw, Soroti City beat NEC 1-0, Ndejje University defeated Kyetume 1-0, Kaaro Kalungi took care of Jinja North 1-0 while Adjumani TC scrapped to a 2-1 victory over Lugazi FC.
