El Hadji Diouf: “I Am Here to Inspire Young Talent in Uganda”

Senegalese football legend El Hadji Diouf has expressed his excitement about being in Uganda, emphasizing his mission to inspire young footballers and contribute to the growth of African football.

Speaking shortly after his arrival, Diouf thanked Ugandan musician and Big Talent Soccer Academy founder Eddy Kenzo for the invitation and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting football development on the continent.

“I am happy to be here, and I thank my brother Kenzo for the invitation. I am here to inspire young talent and discuss various aspects of football development. I am African, and I want to see African football grow,” Diouf stated.

The two-time African Player of the Year also revealed that he has been following Ugandan football closely, citing the national team’s recent match against Algeria as an example of the country’s growing talent. “I recently watched Uganda play against Algeria and saw a lot of promising talent,” he noted.

Diouf is in Uganda for a four-day visit, during which he attended the U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier between Uganda and Kenya at Hamz Stadium.

His presence is expected to motivate young players and foster discussions on the future of Ugandan football.

With FUFA and Big Talent Soccer Academy overseeing his visit, Diouf’s engagements will include mentorship sessions, football clinics, and discussions on strengthening youth football structures in Uganda.
