Morocco clinched the inaugural CAF Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations title with a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Tanzania in a thrilling final played Wednesday night in Rabat.
Trailing 2-0, the Lionesses of the Atlas rallied, with Jasmine Demraoui scoring the decisive goal in the final minute.
The win secures Morocco’s first continental women’s futsal trophy and, along with Tanzania, qualification for the first-ever FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup in the Philippines later this year.
Cameroon finished third. Individual awards went to Morocco’s Demraoui (Best Player) and El Madani (Top Scorer), and Tanzania’s Abbas (Best Goalkeeper). Namibia won the Fair Play Award.
