The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the stadiums that will host the matches of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), marking the first time the tournament will be staged across three East African countries.
Running from 2nd to 30th August 2025, the 8th edition of CHAN will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
It is East Africa’s first taste of CHAN since Rwanda hosted in 2016.
The opening match as well as Group B games will be held at the 60,000-seater Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on 2 August.
The tournament finale as well as Group A will take place at Kenya’s iconic Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi on 30 August, while Uganda will play host to the third-place playoff as well as Group C games at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala. Zanzibar’s Amaan stadium will host Group D matches.
Beyond the marquee matches, the group stage will be spread across four cities:
Group A (Nairobi): Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia
Group B (Dar es Salaam): Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic
Group C (Kampala): Uganda, Niger, Guinea, South Africa, Algeria
Group D (Zanzibar): Senegal, Congo, Sudan, Nigeria
CHAN 2024 will showcase the best home-based talent from across the continent, giving players outside the major European leagues a shot at international glory.
