Arteta Demands More Signings Despite £123m Spend

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says the club still needs more players, even after spending roughly £123.5 million this transfer window.

He wants to “improve the depth and quality” of the squad.

Speaking in Singapore, Arteta confirmed the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke.

However, he stressed that Arsenal’s transfer business isn’t finished.

“In terms of numbers, we are short and we have to improve the depth and quality of the squad. We are constantly looking in the market,” Arteta said.

The Gunners are reportedly still negotiating a £63.5 million deal for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres and are also trying to sign young defender Cristhian Mosquera.

While he wouldn’t comment on specific targets, Arteta noted that new faces bring “new excitement, new energy.”

Arsenal are in Singapore for pre-season matches against AC Milan and Newcastle, before heading to Hong Kong to face Tottenham.
