Abdeslam Ouaddou began his tenure as Orlando Pirates’ head coach with a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarterfinal.
First-half goals from new signings Oswin Appollis and Patrick Maswanganyi secured the win at a packed Orlando Stadium.
Ouaddou acknowledged the “positive pressure” of his new role, stating, “I know the expectation of the fans, I know the expectation of the board.”
The coach was pleased with his team’s high-intensity start and a clean sheet, but cautioned that there are still areas to improve.
“It’s not finished,” he warned, despite the promising start to his new chapter with the Buccaneers.
