Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison is set to miss most of the upcoming season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
The 28-year-old, who joined Spurs in 2023, was injured during a pre-season match against Newcastle in South Korea.
He will undergo surgery and faces a lengthy rehabilitation.
This injury is a major setback for Spurs manager Thomas Frank, who is already dealing with the departure of star player Son Heung-min.
The team is now expected to consider entering the transfer market for a new attacking midfielder to fill the void left by Maddison, who scored 12 goals last season.
