Anisimova Gets Revenge with a Changed Mindset

Fifty-three days after a crushing Wimbledon final defeat, Amanda Anisimova got her revenge at the US Open, beating Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-3 in a high-quality quarter-final.

Anisimova credited her victory to a changed mindset since taking a break for her mental health.

She even rewatched her painful Wimbledon defeat to learn from it, saying, “I’m happy every single day, which I wasn’t a couple of years ago.”

Playing with no fear, she immediately broke back after Swiatek took the first game and dominated with powerful shots. Anisimova will now face Naomi Osaka in the semi-finals.
