MMA fighter Jared Gordon went through with his fight at UFC Noche on Saturday, just 24 hours after a car accident.
The 37-year-old lightweight was defeated by Rafa Garcia in the third round. Gordon fought with a brace on his knee and later revealed on X that he had sprained his MCL (medial collateral ligament) after a car backed over his foot.
“I thought about pulling out, but decided not to,” Gordon wrote. “After a hard, good camp I didn’t wanna pull out. It is what it is. I’ll move forward.”
Gordon, who has a 21-9 professional record, admitted that fighting with the injury “maybe” was the wrong decision and apologized to his fans for the performance.
