Over the weekend, there was a great display of basketball at the NBL, where we witnessed Game Week 4 at various grounds. The defending champions, City Oilers, faced off against last season’s KIU Titans and secured a victory of 72-63 at the MTN Indoor Arena, Lugogo, on Friday.
Livingstone shocked Our Savior with a 63-61 win, while KCCA Leopards defeated KIU Rangers 60-44, and UCU Lady Canons beat JT Lady Jaguars 46-42. Saturday was filled with action as A1 Challenge secured their first victory of the season in style by scoring 99 points, falling just short of a century against Nabisunsa. Stella Kiberenge stood out with 30 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, while Levi Sudi also scored 22 points in 17 minutes.
YMCA Lady Hamstars clinched their second consecutive win by defeating Kampala University, with Florence Rachel Ogundha stealing the show by registering the second triple-double of the NBL season. In another game, Kampala Rockets secured their first win of the season by defeating JKL Dolphins, with Ozias Kikomba leading with 16 points, 20 rebounds, and an impressive 9 blocks, while Arthur Wanyoto put up a strong performance with 20 points and 19 rebounds. On Sunday, KCCA Leopards dominated Nabisunsa with a crushing 110-43 victory, and Nam Blazers defeated Kampala Rockets 89-67.
