Jannik Sinner has achieved an elite ranking milestone, surpassing his rival Carlos Alcaraz for consecutive weeks inside the ATP Tour’s Top 2.
The Italian World No. 2 has now logged his 81st consecutive week in the Top 2, moving past Alcaraz, whose streak ended at 80 weeks.
This achievement guarantees Sinner a second consecutive year-end Top 2 finish, despite Alcaraz recently reclaiming the World No. 1 spot after the US Open.
Sinner’s run, which started after last year’s Miami Open, confirms his exceptional consistency, placing him as the 13th player since 1973 to reach this mark.
Sinner is quickly climbing the historic list, aiming to match John Newcombe next week and pass Lleyton Hewitt’s 87-week streak in two months.
His success is built on a dominant 2024 season that saw him win eight ATP titles with a 73-6 record, keeping him miles ahead of rivals like Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic.
