Ahead of this evening’s FUBA National Basketball League playoff finals Game Four, set for 9 p.m. at the Lugogo Arena, Namuwongo Blazers head coach Steven Nyeko has urged his players to deliver a spirited performance.
Having claimed an 80–70 win in Game Three on Tuesday to pull one back in the best-of-seven series, which they currently trail 2–1, the Blazers will be pushing to level the tie as they chase their first-ever league title.
“We’re still down and need to take it back and draw the series. The mentality is that we’re coming back with the same energy to play. It’s not easy and we can’t undermine them,” Nyeko said.
Reflecting on their Game Three victory — where Peter Obleng scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Arthur Wanyoto and Anthony Chukwurah also hit double figures — Nyeko praised his team’s cohesion.
“We played as a team and recognized where the easy shots would be. We played good defense and limited their scoring,” he added.
In the women’s division, JT Lady Jaguars will be aiming to level their series against defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins in the opening game at 7 p.m. Both games will air live on NBS Sport and Afromobile.
