Jhon Duran is reportedly set to join Zenit St Petersburg on loan, marking the sixth club of his career at just 22 years old.
The Colombian striker is cutting short a loan spell at Fenerbahce to move to the Russian side. It caps a frantic 12 months for Duran, who left Aston Villa in January 2025 for a massive £71m move to Al-Nassr.
In Saudi Arabia hecored 8 goals in 13 games alongside Cristiano Ronaldo but reportedly struggled to settle.
He then joined Fenerbahce on loan last summer but saw manager Jose Mourinho sacked within a month. He leaves after just 10 league games and a Turkish Super Cup win.
His move to Zenit comes at a time when Russian clubs remain banned from European competition.
Duran became a fan favorite at Villa Park with spectacular goals—most notably his winner against Bayern Munich in October 2024.
However, persistent rumors of unrest and a £71m price tag led Unai Emery to sanction his sale to Al-Nassr.
With his move to Zenit, the “chilled” but unpredictable striker continues to follow his own path. As Duran recently posted on social media: “Don’t try to please everybody – that ain’t good.”
