In a nail-biting showdown at the All Africa Games cricket tournament, Uganda’s women’s cricket team, the Victoria Pearls, faced a devastating defeat in the battle for the bronze medal against Nigeria.
Despite a valiant effort, the Pearls fell short by just three wickets in a match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final over.
Winning the toss, Nigeria opted to field first, giving Uganda the opportunity to set the pace. The Pearls put up a commendable fight, scoring a total of 76 runs with 8 wickets down.
