Winning the toss, Nigeria opted to field first, giving Uganda the opportunity to set the pace. The Pearls put up a commendable fight, scoring a total of 76 runs with 8 wickets down. However, Nigeria showcased their resilience, chasing down the target in the final over and securing victory in the crucial play-off match.

Throughout the tournament, Uganda displayed remarkable skill and determination, clinching victories in two games and suffering only one defeat to Zimbabwe in Group B.

Despite this strong performance, their journey to the podium was cut short in the semi-finals by South Africa, leaving them to compete for the bronze medal.

Amidst the disappointment, there were moments of individual triumph for the Victoria Pearls. Captain Consy Aweko reached a significant milestone, achieving her 100th wicket during the tournament.

As cricket made its debut at the All Africa Games, the Victoria Pearls captured the hearts of fans with their passion and dedication. Although they narrowly missed out on a podium finish, their spirited performance has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the cricketing world.
