West Ham have filed a complaint with FIFA after Aaron Wan-Bissaka missed their FA Cup defeat to Leeds, with the club claiming DR Congo failed to release him following World Cup play-off celebrations.
The 29-year-old right-back, last season’s Player of the Year, stayed abroad despite a flight being arranged, leaving Nuno Espírito Santo’s side short in a penalty shootout loss.
Wan-Bissaka is expected back for the Wolves clash on 10 April, but the Irons’ frustration highlights the stakes as they fight relegation with seven league games left.
