George Russell claimed pole at Barcelona-Catalunya, beating Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari by 0.064 seconds. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli was third, struggling for grip in his Mercedes.
Lando Norris took fourth ahead of Max Verstappen and rookie Isack Hadjar, while Oscar Piastri lined up seventh. Liam Lawson and Nico Hulkenberg followed, with Charles Leclerc starting tenth after crashing in Q3.
Russell, winless in recent races, said it was “nice to feel the groove again.” Hamilton, boosted by Ferrari’s upgrades, secured his first front-row start since 2024. Antonelli admitted to a “difficult weekend,” leaving Sunday’s race wide open.
