Amid mounting pressure on manager Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has voiced his support for the embattled coach following a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.

Despite trailing 2-0 at halftime, Chelsea staged a remarkable comeback at Villa Park, with goals from Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher salvaging a crucial point for the London side. However, VAR intervened to disallow a potential late winner, adding frustration to an already tense situation.

Speaking after the match, Cucurella credited Pochettino’s halftime team talk for galvanizing the squad and inspiring a spirited second-half display. The defender emphasized the players’ responsibility for their performances, acknowledging that individual attitudes and consistency are key factors in the team’s success.

While Pochettino remains uncertain about his future at Chelsea, Cucurella reiterated the squad’s belief in the manager’s abilities and expressed readiness to support him through challenging times. The Argentine coach has expressed his willingness to engage in discussions with the club’s management regarding his future, highlighting the need for clarity and stability as the season draws to a close.

Looking ahead, Cucurella emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and focus in the remaining fixtures, with Chelsea still aiming to secure a strong finish in the league. With five games left in the season, the defender remains optimistic about the team’s prospects and is determined to build on the positives from their performance against Aston Villa, demonstrating resilience and fighting spirit until the final whistle.
