James Okello and Jimmy Enabu Depart City Oilers

The City Oilers, one of the most prominent clubs in the National Basketball League (NBL), have announced the departures of key players James Okello and Jimmy Enabu.

This news follows the team’s return from the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in Cairo, Egypt, and marks a significant shift in the club’s roster as the second round of the NBL resumes.

James Okello, known as “The Ugandan Silverback,” has been a pivotal figure in the City Oilers’ success over the past twelve years.

Throughout his tenure, Okello has played an instrumental role in securing nine championships for the club. The atmosphere in the locker room, often charged with the metallic tang of adrenaline and nervous energy, will no longer be the same without him.

Information regarding Okello’s departure was disseminated via the City Oilers’ official Twitter handle, indicating the end of an era for the senior national player.

Okello, however, remained reserved about the specifics of his exit.

“I have nothing to say about my exit from the club until they issue me with an exit letter. After that, I will be able to speak about my gateway from the club,” he stated.

Joining Okello in departure is Jimmy Enabu, a veteran who has been with the City Oilers since 2013.

The City Oilers have been a dominant force in the NBL, and the loss of these seasoned players is likely to have a profound impact on the team’s dynamics. The club has yet to issue a comprehensive statement on how they plan to fill the void left by Okello and Enabu’s departures.
