Preparations in Final Stretch for Nakivubo Reopening

As the grand reopening of Nakivubo stadium approaches, preparations are in their final stages, with the NBS Sport team dedicating significant effort to ensure a seamless broadcast on the day.

The NBS Sport team led by General Manager Joe Kigozi spent a considerable portion of Tuesday afternoon at the stadium meticulously planning the broadcast for the highly anticipated day.

This intense focus on broadcasting arrangements follows a week of live coverage of the preparations leading up to the reopening.

Numerous TV shows from Next Media, the parent company of NBS Sport, have temporarily shifted their studios to Nakivubo stadium, underscoring the significance of this event.

Prominent programs such as NBS Television’s premier entertainment show, “After 5,” and Sanyuka TV’s “Uncut” have held live editions directly from Nakivubo. Even the flagship news program, “Live At 9,” had a special edition broadcast live from the stadium, highlighting the magnitude of this occasion.

Additionally, NBS Sport’s own shows, including “Lunchtime Sports” and “Endiba Yaffa,” have aired multiple live editions from the stadium, further amplifying the excitement surrounding the reopening.

Notably, Nakivubo stadium was closed for reconstruction following a deal between businessman Hamis Kigundu and the government for the redevelopment of the land. Now, after undergoing extensive renovations, the stadium is set to reopen its doors to the public on Saturday, June 1st.

Tickets for the event are available via Next Ticket, with prices ranging from UGX 50,000 to UGX 150,000.
