Frank Warren, Tyson Fury’s promoter, has offered a promising update regarding the anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Following Usyk’s dramatic split-decision victory over Fury two weekends ago, both fighters appear keen to activate the rematch clause.
Usyk’s win was marked by a significant turnaround in the ninth round, after Fury’s strong start. The judges ultimately favored Usyk, leading to his triumph in the closely contested bout.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Warren shared that both fighters are eager to face each other again, with the rematch already agreed upon before the first fight took place.
“The rematch was signed before the first fight took place anyway and that date will be set within the next month or so,” Warren said. “Both fighters said they want it and we’ll go from there.”
Warren praised the first fight, calling it a “fabulous fight” and “the most important fight of the 21st century.”
He anticipates that the rematch will garner even greater attention and excitement.
