Items featuring the black, yellow, and red colors of Uganda are selling like hot cake as excitement builds for the upcoming match between the Uganda Cranes and Botswana. The prices of these items have surged from 10,000 to 25,000 UGX.
One vendor we spoke to mentioned that this is a prime opportunity to earn money, noting that merchandise related to sports events is seasonal and sells well during these periods, allowing them to make a significant profit.
Musoke Ahmed, another vendor, emphasized the importance of supporting local products. He urged Ugandans to embrace the “Buy Uganda, Promote Uganda” initiative by purchasing and wearing items that support the national team.
Despite the higher prices, most of the spectators at the venue are spotting Uganda Cranes Jerseys with almost half of them wearing Uganda Cranes caps as they eagerly await the match.
Uganda Cranes will be facing Botswana in the World Cup qualifiers with the game starting at 7 PM.
