Gazelles’ Priscilla Abby has expressed her gratitude for the tactics used by the national basketball team’s new head coach Goran Lojo and his technical team.
Lojo replaced Alberto Antuna in November last year and has had a brilliant start to life as the Gazelles’ new manager.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international guided the Gazelles to two victories over the Republic of Ireland during the high performance training camp in Germany.
“I am really grateful for the new coach because he was really patient with every player that came on the court,” Abby said in an interview with FUBA media in the aftermath of the game.
“There were ups and downs but largely we did well coming together with the new players as we are trying to learn from the best.”
“We have a big skill set with a lot of discipline and with the help of the new coach the sky remains the limit,” the Grayson College forward added.
The Gazelles defeated Ireland 82-69 on Sunday before another 71-56 victory on Monday.
Upon returning home on Friday, the Gazelles return to action next year for their engagements and this time around in the 2025 AfroBasket qualifiers in February.
After impressing in the international friendly games, Ugandan basketball faithful will be looking forward to seeing what the 47-year-old has to offer on the competitive stage.
