Uganda’s women cricket national team, the Victoria Pearls, clinched a spot in the semi-finals of the All-Africa Games cricket tournament where they will face South Africa.
After being pooled in Group B alongside Rwanda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe, Uganda faced a series of intense matches to secure their advancement.
Their journey to the semi-finals began with a resounding victory over Kenya, where they triumphed by 6 wickets. However, they faced a setback in their match against Zimbabwe, suffering a defeat by 4 wickets. The Victoria Pearls bounced back defeating Rwanda by a margin of 30 runs.
Uganda finished second in Group B, securing a place in the semi-finals, where they will now face off against South Africa. The game will happen on March 11 at 12:30 PM EAT.
South Africa finished top of Group A with victories over Nigeria and Tanzania. Although they stumbled against Namibia, South Africa’s overall performance earned them a spot in the semi-finals, where they will undoubtedly provide formidable competition for Uganda.
In the other semi-final clash, Zimbabwe will take on Nigeria, promising cricket fans another thrilling showdown on the field.
