In a significant achievement, Victoria Pearls captain, Consy Aweko, reached a remarkable milestone by securing her 100th WT20I wicket.

This momentous occasion took place during a thrilling semi-final clash at the All-Africa Games in Accra, where the Victoria Pearls went head-to-head against South Africa.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the Victoria Pearls faced a daunting task as South Africa set a challenging target of 122 runs in 20 overs. Despite their efforts, Uganda struggled to chase down the total.

Ultimately, Uganda could only manage to score 72 runs in 18 overs, losing all their wickets in the process.

Looking ahead, the Victoria Pearls now await the outcome of the Zimbabwe versus Nigeria game to determine their opponent in the 3rd place playoff.

Despite the loss, Aweko’s milestone serves as a testament to her skill and dedication, providing a moment of pride amidst the disappointment.
