South Africa have announced their 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with Aiden Markram set to lead the Proteas for the first time in an ICC event.
Notable inclusions in the squad are Anrich Nortje and Quinton de Kock, who were recently excluded from Cricket South Africa’s central contract list.
Ryan Rickelton and Ottniel Baartman, standout performers in the recent SA20 tournament, are the two uncapped T20I players in the squad.
The team boasts a strong batting core with Markram, De Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, and promising talent Tristan Stubbs. Kagiso Rabada and Nortje lead the pace battery, supported by Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee.
Spin duties will be handled by Bjorn Fortuin, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabraiz Shamsi. South Africa’s T20 World Cup campaign begins on June 3 against Sri Lanka in New York.
