Carlos Alcaraz secured his first-ever French Open title with a remarkable victory over Alexander Zverev. The Spaniard triumphed 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 at Roland Garros, marking his third Grand Slam title.
Alcaraz made history by becoming the first men’s player in the Open era to win his first three Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces. He previously won the US Open on a hard court in 2022 and Wimbledon on grass in 2023.
The 21-year-old’s victory against Zverev, who is still seeking his first major title at 27, was a testament to his resilience and skill. Alcaraz’s win also made him the youngest player to win a Grand Slam on three different surfaces, at 21 years and 35 days old.
He surpassed the previous record held by his idol, Rafael Nadal, who was 22 years and 243 days when he achieved the same feat.
