The Cricket Cranes are gearing up to defend their ILT20 Africa Continental Cup title in Kigali, Rwanda.
The tournament, scheduled from December 4th to 14th, will see Uganda face off against Botswana, Nigeria, and hosts Rwanda in a round-robin format.
Last year, Uganda clinched the title with a one-run victory over Kenya. While Kenya is absent from this year’s competition, Uganda remains determined to repeat their success.
The team has made strategic changes to their squad, including the recall of experienced players like Simon Ssesazi and Joseph Baguma, as well as the inclusion of promising talent like Pascal Murungi.
Coach Abhay Sharma emphasized the importance of preparation and adaptability, stating, “Our aim is to test various players in different positions and combinations to find the best fit for the coming challenges.”
Uganda’s campaign kicks off tomorrow, December 4th, against Botswana at 2:15 PM.
