Lewis Hamilton Embarks on Exciting Ferrari Journey at F1 Australian GP

Lewis Hamilton has marked a significant milestone in his illustrious Formula 1 career as he debuted with Ferrari during the opening practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion’s switch from Mercedes to Ferrari has been one of the most talked-about developments in the 2025 season.

Friday’s practice sessions saw Hamilton adjusting to his new environment and taking the SF-25 for a spin at Albert Park.

This represented the first time Hamilton exited the Ferrari garage on a race weekend, a moment he described as “super exciting.” Despite the initial adaptation phase, Hamilton demonstrated a steady progression across FP1 and FP2, reducing his time deficit to teammate Charles Leclerc.

Reflecting on his first day, Hamilton expressed that the Ferrari felt “completely different” from any car he had driven at the Australian Grand Prix in previous years.

He emphasized the learning curve involved in adapting to Ferrari’s unique characteristics, acknowledging the challenge while relishing the process. “The car felt amazing, but it’s different—just a lot different,” Hamilton admitted. “It requires a new driving approach, but I’m enjoying every moment.”

Hamilton drew parallels between his Ferrari debut and his memorable F1 beginnings with McLaren in 2007, likening the experience to a new chapter in his storied career.

“Starting with a new team always brings back that sense of discovery,” he noted. The Briton also shared his excitement about working with the iconic Scuderia Ferrari, a team he has admired throughout his career.

As Ferrari fans eagerly anticipate Hamilton’s integration with the team, the British driver remains focused on building momentum throughout the weekend and the season ahead.

With three days of testing and now practice under his belt, Hamilton expressed gratitude and optimism. “I’m honored to be a part of this team, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”

The Australian Grand Prix marks the start of an intriguing journey for Hamilton and Ferrari, as they aim to cement their place at the forefront of the championship battle.
