Uganda’s senior women’s cricket team, the Victoria Pearls, will tour Namibia in April 2025 for a bilateral series comprising six T20 Internationals and one One-Day fixture.
The Capricorn Eagles Series, hosted by Cricket Namibia, will run from April 8 to 17 at the recently developed High-Performance Cricket Oval in Windhoek.
All six T20I matches will carry ICC ranking points, with the tour seen as a crucial opportunity for both teams to improve their international standings ahead of the annual ICC rankings update on May 1.
Despite trailing the likes of the UAE and the Netherlands in the race for Women’s ODI status as of March 2025, both Uganda and Namibia will be eyeing strong performances to boost their positioning.
The two sides last faced off in March during the Women’s Day T20I quadrangular series hosted by Uganda.
The Capricorn Eagles, as hosts, have named a 15-player squad led by captain Sune Wittmann.
The team features experienced players such as Yasmeen Khan, Sylvia Shihepo, and Arrasta Diergaardt, alongside promising talents like Victoria Hamunyela and Naomi Benjamin.
Namibia Squad: Sune Wittmann (Captain), Arrasta Diergaardt, Saima Tuhadeleni, Mekelaye Mwatile, Edelle van Zyl, Kayleen Green, Sylvia Shihepo, Yasmeen Khan, Wilka Mwatile, Naomi Benjamin, Bianca Manuel, Victoria Hamunyela, Leigh-Marie Visser, Eveleen Kejarukua, Mezerly Gorases
