Carlos Alcaraz has won his sixth Grand Slam title, defeating rival Jannik Sinner in a four-set final at the US Open.
Alcaraz triumphed 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4, reclaiming the title he first won in 2022.
The men’s final was delayed due to heightened security for US President Donald Trump’s presence, but once play began, Alcaraz’s superior serving and tactical play earned him the victory.
The win also saw the 22-year-old Spaniard take back the world number one ranking from Sinner.
This victory ensures an even split of the 2025 Grand Slam titles between the two players, with Alcaraz winning the French and US Opens, and Sinner taking the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Following the match, a good-natured Alcaraz joked, “I see you more than my family.”
