MTN Uganda, in partnership with the Uganda Professional Golfers Association (UPGA), has launched the MTN Pro Tee, which will now form part of the monthly MTN Tee at the par-71 Entebbe Club.
For the past three years, the MTN Uganda-sponsored tournament has been a members-only golfing event. Beginning June 16–19, however, professionals will join the competition, with 72 rounds of play marking the second quarter of the 2026 MTN Tee.
Justina Icabala, MTN Uganda’s Enterprise Segment Manager, explained that including professionals ensures the MTN Tee caters to every category of golfers.
“This is one way MTN can give back to the professionals who have had limited tournaments,” she said, adding that the company is introducing the ‘Free Your Fire’ campaign in golf under the theme ‘Free Your Swing.’
The prize kitty for the first leg stands at UGX 15 million. Professionals welcomed MTN’s support and promised entertaining action on the course.
Organisers confirmed the tournament will be staged in June, September, and December.
The MTN Pro Tee Series continues to provide a competitive platform for Uganda’s top professional golfers while advancing the sport’s development nationwide. MTN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting golf and recognizing the elite players who elevate the game.
