The Cricket Cranes delivered a scintillating performance, crushing Bahrain by a massive 166 runs in the final match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B Qualifiers.
The tournament, hosted by the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), saw the Cranes clinch the top spot with an impressive display of both bat and ball.
Batting first, Uganda posted a formidable total of 267 runs, with opener Shrideep Mangela leading the charge.
Mangela, in a stellar performance, notched up a century (102 runs off 128 balls), his first at the international level.
Dinesh Nakrani provided crucial support with a blistering unbeaten knock of 76 runs off 47 balls.
The Ugandan bowlers then took control, restricting Bahrain to a paltry 101 runs. Alpesh Ramjani emerged as the star performer, claiming three wickets for a miserly 13 runs in nine overs, including a maiden over.
Henry Ssenyondo (3 wickets), Frank Nsubuga (2 wickets), Juma Miyagi (1 wicket), and Dinesh Nakrani (1 wicket) also contributed significantly to the victory.
With this resounding win, Uganda secured the top spot in the tournament, accumulating nine points and a net run rate of 2.874.
Italy finished second with seven points and a net run rate of 2.237, while Hong Kong China claimed the third position with seven points but a negative net run rate of 0.535.
