Real Madrid have signed France defender Ibrahima Konaté on a four‑year deal after his Liverpool contract expired.
The 27‑year‑old leaves Anfield at the end of June following failed talks over wages and valuation. Konaté made 183 appearances since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2021, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cups.

He admitted sadness at not saying goodbye to fans after Liverpool’s final game against Brentford.
Konaté becomes part of Madrid’s rebuild under Jose Mourinho, joining Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurella as the club looks to bounce back from a trophyless season.
