Heavyweight kickboxer and fitness icon Golola Moses has urged Ugandans to flock to Bushenyi District on Saturday, June 20, for the highly anticipated Olympic Day Tooke Run, where a grand prize of Shs 25 million awaits the ultimate winner.
The high-stakes event will feature multiple race categories, including 40km, 30km, 25km, 10km, and 5km. Organizers chose Bushenyi as the host venue because it is Uganda’s leading hub for matooke (banana) production, home to a state-of-the-art Tooke factory that transforms the crop into innovative dietary products such as bread and biscuits.
Golola praised Tooke’s value addition efforts, stressing that the run offers a vital platform to showcase local agricultural innovations. As head trainer, he promised to be on-site by 6:00 AM to lead participants through an intense morning session of aerobics and Zumba.
Balancing his trademark energy with caution, Golola issued a strong health advisory. Highlighting ongoing threats from Ebola, he urged runners to minimize physical contact, avoid handshakes and hugs, and maintain strict sanitation practices, including handwashing and use of sanitizers throughout the event.
Henry Mugisha, Tooke’s official brand ambassador, expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his far-reaching vision as patron of the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development (PIBID).
Mugisha confirmed that the President will attend as Chief Guest of Honor, and lauded Golola for bringing unmatched charisma and energy to the campaign, ensuring the event becomes a resounding national success.
